Siren's Wharf (Game Jam)
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Scavenge the ruins of an abandoned underwater theme park, crawling with bloodthirsty inhabitants.
A park shut down in it’s heyday becomes legend amongst amusement park fanatics. Spurred by rumors of valuable treasure and collector’s items, you travel to the now abandoned park in the middle of the ocean in search of it’s most valuable prize. Whispers among the fandom speak of a hidden Pearl in Siren's Wharf that's ripe for the taking. Forums buzz with comments suggesting that none of the other enthusiasts who’ve gone looking have ever returned. Can you find the Pearl and make it back to tell the tale?
Siren's Wharf is a short (10-20 minute) experience created as part of the HauntedPS1 Summer of Shivers 2021 game jam. The main theme we chose was "Submechanophobia", or the fear of submerged man-made objects. The only other guideline was to design a game in a retro-PS1 style.

I liked it a lot! I would have preferred a longer game. It reminds me of BioShock, but with less action of course.
I played your game on my channel, and boy did I spend most of the runtime scared to move!
Overall, very cool little game. The concept was interesting, the execution was good, the atmosphere was thick and the sound design was excellent. Had a lot of fun with SIREN'S WHARF. Keep making more games!
Haha, that was very entertaining. Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks for the watch! Much appreciated!
I liked the game overall, at first I thought it weird that you couldn't carry more ammo, but there really isn't enough enemies to ever make that a problem.
The ending was very abrupt.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, we'd have liked to do more with the ending but the game jam time was running pretty tight. Still happy with the amount of content we got done in time though.
Omg this game is so fun! Will you ever make it into a full game? Like different enemies and maps
Thanks! It'd be cool to expand on it, but I'm currently focusing all my time on my main project: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1390070/Ad_Infernum/ Still have a ways to go on that before I consider other work. This was just a fun little distraction while the jam was going on.
Im a sucker for retro horror with a gun , fun game :)
Full Playthrough No Commentary
Thanks for checking it out!
Maybe a bit too easy but definitely fun!
This game caught my eye due to how close it felt to one of my favorite games Bioshock! You have nailed the atmosphere, I bet if you made harpoons a little more scarce the horror could be pumped into the experience a small amount more. But other than that I loved this experience thanks for sharing your game!
Yeah, there are a lot of bolts. We wanted to make more variety in the loot but time was pretty tight on the game jam. Thanks for checking it out!

I can see why this theme park was shut down. Great job. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for making a video on it!

VERY GOOD SHORT HORROR GAME DEV
Thanks for playing!
This game is amazing! Surprisingly scary and christ those monsters can take a beating
Haha, yeah they can take a lot more hits in the arms/legs than the head/chest. Thanks for playing!
Great Game Very Fun And Scary I Enjoyed It A Lot👍
Thanks for making a video on it!
A short, but well contained story with some creepy atmosphere, gross looking monsters, and an ending with some snap. I liked it!
Pretty speedy for a first run! Thanks for checking it out!
Thank you! It makes me super happy that you figured out the bit at the end. Heh heh ;D
This is solid and shows a lot of potential! I hope you had a blast making this. I posted a review in the jam submission page and did a playthrough video:
will there be updates?
This was made for a short game jam which just recently ended, so there won't be any new content added. If you want to play more stuff like this, I have a lot more games on my profile, including a big project I'm working on right now.
Good game. I felt a light Bioshock inspiration here... Congrats on your game.
Thanks for checking it out!
Pretty cool little Juego!
Muchas gracias!
Reminded me a lot of Bioshock.
The premise of the game is a bit blurry, although once you get into the action, it kicks you off with a fantastic fast paced shooting and well created environments. The navigation is kind of odd, you constantly have the pop-up bar about the objectives, I wish that would have been changed for a better immersion, but other than that, I really enjoyed my time. Yeah, I'd like to have a better way to display the notes, but we also didn't want to stop the game completely to show info. Thanks for making a video on it!
Not very spooky and maybe there should be an option to fight the mummy when you place 4 statues at the fountain, overall i think it's fun to play, i like the graphics too. Also in the first run i remember picking a note writing about the location of those mermaid statutes, then forgot it later in the second run, maybe that note should be placed somewhere else like the fountain or being dropped out of those monsters when you killed them.
That note actually gets added to your collection once you get near the fountain. A boss fight would've been pretty fun, but we didn't have much time to add more. Thanks for playing!
Short but spooky game! The atmosphere was well done, thanks in part to the excellent sound design. Exploring the park was made interesting due to the enemies wandering around. Although, the engagements with the enemies felt a bit too easy. I think making the harpoon slower to reload or the enemies a bit more durable would have helped make it a more hectic survival horror experience.
Regardless, it was a fun time! Great job!
Thanks for making a video on it! We weren't going for full-on scary, more like resident evil-scary like you mentioned. Enemies definitely could've used some more work, but that 1 month time constraint was pretty tight. Thanks again!
Just finished my playthrough. I really enjoyed the world design and atmosphere! I think the setting really sets it apart from a lot of other indie horror. Looking forward to checking out some of ya'lls other titles. Also, thanks for doing a Linux version!
Thanks for checking it out! All credit goes to Gray for the spooky visuals. Always happy to support linux gaming too!
